They Say its your Birthday. . .

So, yesterday I turned the big 29, and officially began my last year in my twenties. I am not upset about getting older, but it hit me yesterday why people get depressed about birthdays as they get older. It is not the actually turning a year older that is depressing, its the fact that your birthday gets less important to other people as you get older. People inevitably get busier with their own things, and less likely to stop the world to celebrate your birthday. This leaves you alone and wondering where everyone went. My birthday was not the best ever, but it could be worse. It could be much worse. And today, the day after is. I am faced with a little boy with a bad cold and diarrhea, probably from the drainage from the cold. On the other end of the spectrum I have a constipated little girl, again. The fact that it snowed this morning only serves as a reminder of the pending arrival of winter. I just can't wait.
